Isabella Zayas Gaby

Isabella Zayas Gaby is an illustrator with a love for all kinds of visual storytelling. Kid-lit and children’s media, especially children’s and middle grade books, are her main focus, though she also does editorial illustration and linocut printmaking.

She works in both digital and traditional media, usually a mix of gouache, watercolor, and colored pencil. Connecting to young readers’ sense of imagination through visual storytelling is important to her work, as is inspiring curiosity and empathy.

Outside the studio, you can find Isabella hiking in the White Mountains, crocheting and sewing, and spending time with her husband and two children.

Isabella completed a BFA in Illustration in 2024 at New England College.
